Humidity mats blown-in that was never thick enough. Batts that were laid with gaps at the eaves do not magically close. A hatch with no weatherstrip dumps attic air into the hallway every time someone grabs holiday bins. Near the water, the house envelope takes salt; inside the attic the enemy is moisture plus heat, not spray from the Gulf.
